When buying a new bike, the choice of the brand is one of the first questions to ask.

Whether it is for the universe, the history, the quality, or the price, it is normal to think: is Retrospec a good bike brand?

I am a bike aficionado who researched for you important information about the brand to help you know if Retrospec bikes are good bikes.

Let’s get started.

What is the Retrospec bike company?

Retrospec offers bicycles, cycling equipment, and more generally, skate, snow, and outdoor products.

The 2022 years old brand is mainly known for very inexpensive bikes that are very well made for their price.  With a slightly retro vibe, the brand has a very good reputation and is validated by its buyers.

What types of bikes does Retrospec make now?

Today, the brand offers on its website several categories of bikes: commuter bikes mainly, but also some road and mountain bikes. Kids’bikes have a place in the catalog too.

In its catalog, we can find 48 different bicycles and frames.

Is a Retrospec bike expensive?

Overall, the prices correspond to the low range of the market, but not in a bad way.

As for the price, the brand offers a wide range. The cheapest model offered costs $179.99 (We do not take into account kids’ bikes which would distort the average price) while the maximum price is $1,899.99.

Where can I buy a Retrospec bike?

Many retailers are partners, including Amazon, and many shops all over the US.

The best thing for you to do is to go directly to the manufacturer’s website. A tool is set up to find a bike as easily as possible, in a store near you or directly, if this service is available, in your mailbox (if there is enough space of course).

How reliable are Retrospec bikes? Are Retrospec bikes good?

For a bike of this range, the models are good for their price. If you’re looking for a nice bike for bike commuting, consider Retrospec. The products are generally well-finished, for an unbeatable price. For $200, you can have a good fixie that lasts, without needing a lot of maintenance. For me, that’s definitely something interesting.

A word of disclaimer about the brand’s mountain bikes: I’d steer clear of them because they’re not really their specialty.

Of course, a bicycle remains reliable if it is used as designed. Make sure you use your machine properly and maintain it regularly.

What is the Retrospec’s Warranty?

On the manufacturer’s website, we can read:

Our warranty covers manufacturer defects in materials and workmanship. If you receive a defective product, let us know as soon as possible and we will replace it at no charge to you.

Contact us here explaining the issues you’re experiencing and one of our customer service representatives will reach out with the next steps. Retrospec has sole discretion to determine what qualifies as manufacturer’s defects. if you have any questions, you can email us at

So, is Retrospec a good bike brand?

In the city bike segment, for short rides or commuting, I find Retrospec a great alternative to more expensive brands. For next to nothing, you can buy a sober, pretty bike (worth mentioning) with a real personality. Personally, I approve.

Also, when buying your future bike, do not forget to take into account its possible limits.
