When buying a new bike, the choice of the brand is one of the first questions to ask. Whether it is for the universe, the history, the quality or the price, it is normal to think: is Fuji a good bike brand?

I am a bike aficionado who researched for you the important information about the brand to help you know if Fuji bikes are good bikes.

Let’s get started.

What is the Fuji bikes company?

The Fuji brand was created in Japan during 1899 by Okazaki Kyūjirō.

The 123 years old brand is mainly known for the conception of modern road bikes, whose finish was irreproachable in comparison with the competitors.

What does Fuji stand for?

The brand name Fuji comes from Mount Fuji, famous and symbolic mountain of Japan. With such a name, the brand promotes itself as strong and durable.

What types of bikes does Fuji make now?

Today, the brand offers on its website several categories of bikes: road bikes, mountain bikes, electric bikes, kids bikes. They also have 1 model of city bike.

In its catalog we can find 110 different bicycles and frames.

Is a Fuji bike expensive ?

Overall, the prices correspond to a medium-high range.

As for the price, the brand offers a wide range. The cheapest model offered costs $589.99 (We do not take into account kids bikes which would distort the average price) while the maximum price is $6499.99.

Why are fuji bikes so cheap?

Some may wonder about the origin of the price gap between Fuji and its competitors. The brand manufactures its bikes in Taiwan and plays on high production volumes, which equates to less QA (quality assurance). Thus, the company cuts its costs.

However, this does not mean that the bikes are bad, it is just important to take this into account, and make the calculation to know if an investment with them is worth it in the long term.

Where can I buy a Fuji bike?

Many retailers are partners, including 410 stores in the US..

The best thing for you to do is to go directly to the manufacturer’s website. A tool is set up to find a bike as easily as possible, in a store near you or directly in your mailbox (if there is enough space of course).

How reliable are Fuji bikes?

For a bike of this range, the models are durable and of high quality. However there is a real difference between road bikes and mountain bikes. If road bikes have been a reference for a long time, the brand has had difficulties to integrate the mountain bike market and has never really found its place. Thus, these models will have a much lower quality-price ratio than road or MTB models of competing brands.

Of course, a bicycle remains reliable if it is used as designed. Make sure you use your machine properly and maintain it regularly.

What is the Fuji’s Warranty?

On the manufacturer’s website, we can read:

Rigid Frames – Limited Lifetime;

Rigid Frames with Front Suspension – Limited Lifetime;

Rigid forks – Limited Lifetime;

Full-Suspension Frames – 5 Years;

Suspension Parts (Fork/Shock/Pivots) – 1 Year or Manufacturer’s Warranty;

E-Bike Electrical Components and Motor – 1 Year or Manufacturer’s Warranty;

All Other Components – 1 Year or Manufacturer’s Warranty.

So, is Fuji a good bike brand?

Yes.

However, I think you have to be careful. Buying a road bike from them is a good investment for me. A legendary brand, rich history and sharp design knowledge will be assured with your bike.

Buying another bike like a mountain bike for example is more questionable for me. For the announced price, there are better opportunities with competitors who will offer more reliable and solid models.

Also, when buying your future bike, do not forget to take into account its possible limits.
